I'm a huge Charger enthusiast, this car was shown in the Detroit MotorShow some years ago. and i've seen photos of this car. surprise is, i've seen a photo with the car positioned just like your so-called ART, one question for you bro. did you really come up with this image? because i think you didn't, this is a repro of a photo which you re-plotted, well, the colors SHOULD look real because it was originally from a photo... too bad dude, i say it's a bit a shame when you didn't say that you DIDN'T mention that you originally plotted a photo into vector art.. tell me when i'm wrong. no offense dude. LOL
Yes I did use a real photo as a reference when I did this picture, it's not an auto trace picture if thats what you mean!!??The whole picture is done with the freehand pen tool and by compairing the vector picture with the real photo. I don't know how familiar you are with Freehand 10:s limitations when it comes to shading pictures, because it's not the easiest thing to make shapes to look round and smooth. I can see you are into 3d modeling and shading vector pictures are not like shading 3d models, you can't just place a light source and get the shades automaticaly that way, all has to be done by hand and by letting your eye say whats look right and what looks wrong. This being my first attempt on doing a realistic vector picture I know there are flaws in it, but still im quite happy how it turned out.
yeah, i agree, still vector art is one of the hardest to do, i did some things myself with Flash ( i am too lazy to learn new softwares... hehehe) but still, you're one of the best tracer i've ever seen. dude, keep on doing it! Rock on!
Wait--this is your concept? B/c I was thinking it was an actual Dodge concept car and I was starting to get all excited cos it looked so good... At any rate, this is really, really nice. The retro look has been coming back in vehicle design for a while, but so few companies are actually managing to do it right. This design takes the lines of the old Charger and modernizes them really well, and I'm loving that rear end. (best part of a car ). I wouldn't be at all displeased to see this thing on the road someday...
at first it looked like a photo, upon closer inspection, I Thought it was 3d work...then I saw it was vector work...I am simply amazed, it looks very real, only thing I see that could be fixed, is the shadows and lighting, something about the way it is now, throws it off. this is a very nice peice, I wish you made it bigger, because I would save it in my wallpaper collection and use it sometime.
but the exhaust pipes look out of place
they shake you know, so the back bumper would be screwed no time
thats why they put it under tha car
its an excellent piece
very very realistic
First of all the subject matter is awesome, the "Charger" is one serious car. Secondly, your work with Freehand is amazing. I do not really know the program all that well but I must say that I am seriously impressed with what you can create with it. It all seems so real, congratulations on this one!
